How To Make WiFi Money

To make WiFi Money, you must first start an online business. High level, the process goes like this.

  1. Decide on the type of WiFi money model
  2. Build or utilize a platform
  3. Decide on traffic sources
  4. Build a brand
  5. Either sell your own product or someone else’s

There’s a lot of different WiFi Money models and I’ll go over the the major ones below.

If you’re looking for a more streamlined WiFi Money Guide, go to that link.

Decide on Type of Model

The first thing you’re going to want to do is decide on what type of business model you’re going to use. IE – The type of WiFi Money business.

This will dictate most everything else. The other alternative is spending a lot of time building an audience on social media and figuring the model out later. This way, you have built in traffic once you’re ready to launch.

WiFi Money Models

This section is taken from here. For a more expanded view of all of these models, check out my post on revenue models for online businesses.

Ecommerce

While this is a broad model, we’re going to define this as selling a *physical* product. Selling anything over the internet classifies as ecommerce. In this context, let’s classify it as selling a physical product on your own website.

Amazon

Selling on Amazon is still classified as ecommerce and selling a physical product. It is separated from ecommerce above because it’s unique in scale and the fact that you control a lot less business levers as opposed to selling on your own website.

Drop Shipping

Drop Shipping is selling another company’s product through your site. I advise against it since the margins are compressed and you don’t control the supply chain.

Reselling

This is actually a great way to dip your toes into ecommerce to gain experience. There are some success stories of people that started years ago and built 8 or even 9 figure business, but it’s unlikely to be you.

You’ll make some money and learn a lot in the process. I’ve seen people clear 6 figures in profit by learning how to stack coupons with certain brands.

Affiliate Marketing

This is a broad term and has a lot of avenues of how you can go about it. In short, you’re partnering with a brand and driving traffic to their site. When they purchase, you get a cut of the revenue. Affiliate marketing is a great start into WiFi Money as it takes less than $20 a month to start.

Display Advertising

In this WiFi Money business model, you’re showing ads to users that visit your site. You get paid for the amount of ads that are shown.

Courses

Selling courses is nothing more than selling your expertise in a packaged and easily digestible format online.

Digital Products

This could be similar to the courses above or completely different.

Everyone thinks of digital products as scammy, but it’s actually a very large market with some big and established player. As the world becomes more and more digital, digital products will take the place of a lot of physical products.

Other WiFi Money Revenue Models

There’s an almost infinite list of different revenue models of WiFi Money. If you’re interested in learning more and starting your own, the Substack has a ton of great information to get you started. If you’re unfamiliar with the Substack platform, here’s a FAQ on Substack.

Build or Utilize a Platform

If you’ve chosen to reselling or selling on Amazon/Ebay, this section is done for you. You’re obviously going to go with their platform.

If you’ve decided on affiliate marketing or lead generation, you’re going to want to build on WordPress. I’ve written a great guide on understanding website basics and on how to start your own website quickly.

Here’s a great WordPress 101 Guide that will get you up to speed on everything you need to know.

If you’re going the route of physical ecommerce, you should choose Shopify. Anything other than those 3, see this post on choosing a platform.

Decide on Traffic Sources

Build it and they will come doesn’t exist. You have to drum up demand for your product. At the very least, you have to market to make sure people are aware of it.

Your basic choices are:

SEO

Search Engine Optimization is a favorite for myself and so many others. It’s difficult and will take a long time to get right, but it will pay dividends for years to come.

Google can become finicky with their updates and the competition is fierce. This is why it’s important to have a good email capture plan and diversify your channels long term.

Social

This doesn’t need a lot of explaining but I will say a few things.

Almost every large social media account is monetizing their account. Having the attention of a large audience is very valuable since you can drive that audience to any product you want.

You should, however, stick to 1-2 social media platforms. Growing on social media is a lot harder than most people realize. It will take your full focus.

Ads

This is also one that doesn’t need a ton of explaining. Most people know what ads are. However, there’s a gap in people’s knowledge to the extent of ad types that are out there. Read this post on the different ad and acquisition channels for your website.

Build Your Brand

Not an actual “WiFi Money” brand, but your brand. Having a brand of any kind is very valuable. Brands command more loyalty and have higher valuations.

What you’re building here is familiarity of your brand and products. Loyalty if you will. To see how it’s done correctly over time, check out this post on brand building.
